And let's not forget the Mareeba Memorial Bowls Club, a mere stone's throw down the road.  New residents enjoy their first year's membership free, enabling them to take part in the many competitions arranged by the club, several of which being sponsored by Savannah Lifestyle Resorts.  We are all delighted that Brothers Leagues Club have committed to take over the club in the new financial year and very exciting plans are afoot to upgrade all the facilities on offer.  Savannah has agreed to sponsor several tournaments this year and is set to be a major sponsor for future competitions.  The Bowling fraternity are extremely active in the region with games played most weekends at various venues.

Mareeba's climate is extremely well-suited to golf  throughout the year and the local course is well-maintained and popular.   The FNQ Veterans Golfers play every Tuesday at various destinations in the region and share wonderful comraderie and social networking.  Savannah Lifestyle Resorts are proud supporters of the FNQ Veterans Golfers and are sponsoring two competitions this year - one in Cairns in June and one in Mareeba in August.  Their local blogspot gives more detailed local information and is updated regularly.
