While the exterior house colour schemes have been designed with aesthetics in mind and are therefore fixed, there are a number of free changes that can be made to the Standard House Specifications and a quantity of Optional Extras (with extra cost) from which to choose.

Design features have also been included to specifically cater to possible future mobility issues and, unless an owner requires dementia or palliative care, living in Savannah Lifestyle Resorts to an advanced age is totally achievable, supported by the various HAC services.

These include the following:

  • No thresholds on any of the external doorways to prevent dangerous tripping hazards;
  • Kitchen layouts allow for ease of accessibility, with a maximum number of drawers and much thought employed on the positioning of wall-mounted ovens and microwaves;
  • Wider than normal doorways to make homes accessible to all levels of mobility issues;
  • Wide showers in ensuite fitted with hand showers, no entry doors and single direction fall of floors into strip drains beside the wall, reinforced walls in areas beside toilets and in the shower to provide easy fitting of various mobility devices, such as hand grips and fold-down seats;
  • All taps and handles are chosen based on their ease of use;

  • The eerie, abandoned smelters of Chillagoe. Built in the 1900s to 1910s , it was operated up until 1943, treating 1.25 million tonnes of ore and yielding hundreds of thousands of tonnes of copper, lead, silver and gold. ⚒

It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on October 21, 1992.

  • 🤩 Emerald Creek, you beauty!
⠀
Emerald creek has a series of cascading waterfalls over granite boulders.

A walking track alongside the creek takes you past its numerous waterfalls, which are cascading over granite boulders into lagoons, up to the lookout with views of the valley towards Mareeba.

Be aware, the road is not suitable for caravans, and camping is not permitted.

  • Swim in an ancient volcanic crater lake, all year round!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Formed by 🌋 volcanic activity over 9000 years ago, Lake Eacham is found within the Crater Lakes National Park on the Atherton Tablelands.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also known as Yidyam or Wiinggina to the local Ngadjon-Jii people, it’s just under a two hour drive from Port Douglas or one hour from Cairns. Surrounded by dense lush rainforest, the lake’s crystal clear water has an average depth of 65m and is ringed by a 3km rainforest walking track.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The area is also renowned for birdwatching with over 180 known species. It’s a beautiful place to visit when exploring the area 🏞️
